Woolly Ventures Out...
On the rare occasion that the Nursing Home for the Bewildered Knitters lets me out, I always seem to get into trouble and then that leads me on/inspires a knit of some description. The ones that are printable will be coming soon in my book!!
My life in patterns … although it is not finished yet my daily life is where most of the patterns have come from. The phrase I knit so I don’t kill people never had a truer interpretation than me! So, for example, the Red Mist Shawl is a lovely ombre shade shawl using Stylecraft’s Dreamcatcher yarn which goes from a yellow to mustard to orange, then pink and bright scarlet red. It’s like a fabulous sunset but also, it’s a yarn version of what happens to me when some idiot decides to throw their car door open in front of me!
I can go straight from a mellow yellow to red in a matter of seconds. When the red mist comes down, 0-60 mph in 2 seconds … really you people out there should look at ladies of a certain age and NOT MESS WITH US! One of my very dear friends absolutely lost her sh*t with the girl in the shop when there was no price on a handbag she wanted to purchase!
Ladies of a certain age, let’s say fifty plus, have the temper of the incredible hulk … we know it’s happening; we know it’s going to get worse very quickly and we can feel it coming but there is absolutely NOTHING we can do to stop it. You have been warned people! Behind my Mona Lisa smile lurks the persona of a trained killer. The shawl of course is big enough to cover the body … just saying!
