Keep Calm and Carry on Knitting
Without making light of this dreadful disease and I do feel sorry for Boris as if he didn't have enough to contend with so early in his Presidency (!) without Brexit, now we have this virus. I'm sure it is very worrying for those who have it or have family members who are vunerable it must be very scary! But we are a great country and we have been through worse times and I do feel that we might just come out the other end of this a nicer, calmer and more caring society. When did we start forgetting our neighbours and how did we create this me, me,me capitalist and selfish country? When did that happen? How did we allow that to happen? By stopping and thinking and looking at ourselves, we may find a better way hopefully. Be kind, be helpful and don't be selfish ... as my mum used to say ... you catch more bees with honey than vinegar D'haling! (NOT a scientifically proven fact I hasten to add!)
When people say to me 'I'm going to get so bored, I won't know what to do!' I really don't understand it, no seriously I just DON'T understand it. My knitting and crocheting list is long enough to last me til I'm at least 300 years old! And that's not to mention the sewing, drawing and all the films and binge watching TV series I want to do! The ability to occupy ourselves and just create seems to have disappeared from our immediate world too. Knitting is a very calming hobby creating items, usually for others if you are anything like me ... meet me in the street and you would never know I am the Head Honcho of a woolly emporium ... I rarely wear anything knitted or crocheted. In my home however I do leak (unfortunate word to use but I do love it!) knitty items, just slightly, cushions and throws a plenty are usually knitted by yours truely! There is also the odd random teddy or mutant animal hidden in the small person's cupboards. Too precious to be given away but just too 'lame' to be out on display!! So there is evidence for the crime scene investigators should I be accused of crimes of yarn, they are just well hidden. Going off on a random tangent, there's an idea for a book or an award winning tv series ...
So be kind ... please, and keep knitting, crocheting or creating ... it is good for your soul! Remember A Bit Woolly is open online 24/7 for all your knitty needs! God, I love a bit of blatant advertising!! Just orf to get my space suit on to go to the Post Office with my latest mailing sack of orders! Take care out there people! Laters x
